OUR MOST REQUESTED SEMINAR
The Role of Women In the Church
|
| by Dr. Wayne Hendrickson |
IT’S
TIME TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT… concerning the topic of women in
ministry. For centuries tradition has taught against and strongly opposed
women in leadership. However, with research and careful study, according to
the Scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments, one conclusion is clear -
that women are gifted, called, anointed, appointed and commissioned for a
variety of leadership roles.
Most of the misunderstandings stem from reading the Scriptures with a
western mentality, and a failure to correctly translate ancient Greek and
Hebrew texts. Other obstacles have been a lack of knowledge of the history
surrounding the biblical texts as they were written, as well as, the
historical perceptions of women at the time these passages were translated
into English. This has caused tremendous error to become spoken or unspoken
doctrine concerning the role of women in leadership.
With a more thorough study of the Bible, you will discover women judges,
prophets, teachers, military generals, apostles, evangelists, pastors, and
leaders of nations. Some of the topics covered in Dr. Hendrickson’s book on
The Role of Women In The Church are:

Judges 4:4 ¶And
Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at
that time. 5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between
Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came
up to her for judgment.
Luke 2:36 And there
was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of
Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven
years from her virginity;
John 4:28 The woman
then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to
the men, 29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I
did: is not this the Christ? 30 Then they went out of the city, and
came unto him.
