MINISTERING IN THE CHURCHES

On Sunday mornings it is a flurry of activity as we each get ready to leave for our respective churches. Our monthly calendar looks like a list of Ukrainian towns and villages with names like Carmine-Kabuska, Rogatin, Borshtin, Peritichin, Kamarnov, Stebnick, Kreminitz, Sambir, and Lutsk! Our trip coordinator calls and arranges the meetings for us, and we call the driver and translator and off we go. Sometimes Wayne and I actually leave at the same time and head off in two different directions.

The roads are not well kept, the drive to the church can be between an hour and three hours one way, and the heater went out on the car Wayne was in the other Sunday. The temperatures are dropping and it can be cold, wet, and tiring. But, it is exciting to minister in these churches. The people are warm and welcoming. Sometimes the members give us bags of apples and vegetables from their garden. One pastor blessed us with two dressed rabbits (to bake) and bags and bags of vegetables! After we shared half of everything with our translator, we still had plenty to make rabbit stew!

I have had the opportunity to lead worship in several churches. I have been learning some songs in Ukrainian and it makes the people feel that I care enough about them to learn some songs. I bring my keyboard and my translator sings with me. We have a grand time singing and worshipping God.

People are getting saved, filled with the Holy Spirit and healed in the meetings. We have a strong group on Tuesday nights for Healing School in Chevonegrad, and we are starting Healing School in Lviv. The Healing School will help people learn how to receive their healing, as well as train people how to minister healing to the sick. We will train them how to minister in the hospitals before we are finished. This is the vision in action: Equipping believers to do the work of the ministry.

PASTORS’ WIVES CONFERENCE – November 17/18

We have given invitations to pastors’ wives from the neighboring regions and we expect a good turnout. Rallene Almendarez and I have planned a special Friday night and Saturday morning event for these precious women. We are arranging to have two special meals, give them a gift, and Springs of Life is helping them with housing. We want this to be a great experience for them as we want to do a longer conference in Spring, 07. There is no real ministry to pastors’ wives here in Ukraine so we want to acknowledge and bless them.

The estimated cost for meals and gifts is $500.00. That is roughly $10 per person. If you would like to send a special offering to help us cover the cost of this event, we would gladly receive it.

UPGRADES ON THE WEBSITE / COME VISIT US!

We have made some significant changes on our website the past few weeks. We have added more pictures in the Photograph section which chronicles our missionary adventures and our newest addition is a section called Faith Growers. Faith Growers is where visitors can read a short teaching in PDF format that will stimulate and encourage their faith. Each month we will add two or three new articles.

Although we continue to receive checks and money orders for contributions, for those wishing to make online contributions, we have added this feature to the website. It is a safe and secure system with Paypal. Online and paper contributions will continue to be receipted from our Stateside office for your tax-exempt donation. Please take a few minutes to check us out.

EMAIL NEWSLETTER

We will also begin an email newsletter for those interested in receiving the newsletter by email. You can sign up below. The monthly teaching will be featured in the Faith Growers section of our website
