April, 2007

We want to greet you in the Name of the Lord!  This has been a most unusual winter in Europe.  It has been rather warm this year and spring seems to have arrived early.  The ground is receiving rain which will prepare the soil for the vegetables and other crops that will be planted in the next few weeks.

PLANTING SEEDS

We continue to minister in a town called Chevonegrad, about ninety minutes from Lviv.  The pastor and his church are hungry for the Word of God.  Wayne began teaching on Prosperity for the four Tuesdays in March.  The people are growing in knowledge about how to operate in the Kingdom of God principles regarding increase.

Every Sunday, Wayne visits a different church to encourage the pastors and the church members.  We are building relationship with the pastors by preaching in their churches, fellowshipping and making ourselves available to minister to them.  We are planning to host a Pastor’s conference in the future and we want these pastors to come and receive training on the Kingdom of God.

We are planting seeds of our own.  Each trip we take to minister, our ministry pays the expenses for the driver, petrol and the translator so we can sow into the lives of the people of Ukraine.  Wayne will be going on a two-day trip to the Carpathian Mountains to a town called Peritichin.  He will be teaching a Leadership conference there, and staying over to preach on Sunday morning.  It is another opportunity to plant seeds, this time in another region of Ukraine.

We look for ways to bless the nation of Ukraine, not just with the Word but with gifts and finances as well.  We give to the poor and destitute, we buy flowers and candy for the security ladies to show them the love of God.  We don’t speak enough Ukrainian to hold a very long conversation, but flowers speak love to them.  We’ve watched the harsh, stern faces light up with excitement to think we remembered them with flowers or a small box of candy.

EXPECTING A HARVEST

But planting seeds is not enough.  Planting without expecting is a waste.  We also expect a harvest on these seeds sown.  We expect the pastors and leaders to receive revelation on how to prosper so they can begin to manifest prosperity in their own lives and churches.  When the pastors begin to experience it, the people will want to apply the same principles.  Then, the seeds turn into a harvest.

No farmer plants seed without expecting a harvest.  We are no different.  Every team that comes to Ukraine first sows financial seeds into the economy of Ukraine, from the purchase of airline tickets to souvenirs for family and friends.  Taxi drivers, restaurants, translators, and markets all benefit from the teams that come to preach and minister in Ukraine.  We expect every team that comes and sows time, energy, finances and ministry into Ukraine to produce a harvest.

Some teams come to minister to orphans, some come to teach in Bible school, some come to exhort and encourage, others come to train pastors and leaders in prayer, worship, children’s ministry, leadership, business and outreach.  Each team has a specific area of ministry seeds to sow into Ukraine.  We welcome them.  Ukraine is a large country, and we cannot possibly reach all the people ourselves.

Each team contributes seed to the “field” of Ukraine.  And we expect those seeds to harvest not only in natural things like clothes and care for orphans, and financial prosperity for drivers, translators and market owners, but also revelation knowledge for this nation to prosper and turn toward Christ.
